I’ve worked in a variety of mediums for clients and always enjoy the collaborative process of creating custom artwork. Most often I work in paint on a variety of surfaces, from a professionally stretched canvas to reclaimed barn wood, broken cymbals, and other various found objects.
I usually prefer to do the process step by step with the client to keep us on the same page throughout. Often rough sketches, computer-generated mock-ups, and color choices are approved by the client before actually putting paint onto any surface. Shipping costs will be estimated as accurately as possible before the project is executed.
My process for graphic design work is usually very similar to making custom artwork. I always prefer to start with sketches of ideas on paper for approval before moving to ink and finally color and text.
Many of the clients I have worked for found my artwork through Hillbilly Casino. In addition to playing drums for the band, I acted as the bands artistic director, designing flyers, tour calendars, the cover and layout for our album “Red, White & Bruised” as well as doing the Illustrations and layout of our book & cassette release “Blue Suede Santa”. During my time with Hillbilly Casino I had the pleasure of working outside the band on everything from T-shirt designs and band logos to promotional materials for businesses and events.
